Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Usman Khawaja to pick up his 250th Test wicket to become the second fastest Indian to reach 2500 runs and pick 250 wickets in Test cricket. Jadeja trails only spin-bowling partner Ravichandran Ashwin for the fastest journey to the landmark. He becomes only the fifth Indian after Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh and Ashwin to complete the rare feat in Test cricket.
Jadeja reached the milestone when he got rid of Khawaja to claim his 250th Test wicket. The Australian batsman hit the reverse target, a shot he played very well throughout the innings, which flew towards KL Rahul who took the catch with an acrobatic effort. It was Jadeja's first wicket of the match as Australia lost their fifth wicket of the day.
Jadeja recently moved up four places to 16th in the latest ICC Test Bowling Rankings thanks to his performances in Nagpur. He retained his top spot in the all-rounder rankings while Ashwin held on to his second spot as Indians continue to dominate the all-rounder rankings.
Jadeja was on fire in the first Test match in Nagpur, picking up a decisive five-wicket haul in the first innings as India bowled out the visitors for 177 runs. He went on to score half-centuries as India put 400 on the board in the second innings. Jadeja was awarded the Man of the Match award for his performance at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur.
